you should try to clear your cmos, unplug the computer and take the battery out of the motherboard (the little watch battery)...and leave it out for a minute..put it back..and try to boot w/ just your old memory..

next..do the fans and whatnot still spin up???

if they do and u get no video, reseat cards...but i doubt that's the issue..u prolly fried your board thru ESD

Is your new RAM's speed i.e. 100mhz, 133mhz compatable with your motherboard and or BIOS? Some MB's will not "see" a RAM stick that is to fast. Usually on boot the BIOS just wont see the new RAM, but I have seen some syatems fail to boot.

yeah the fans work.......my video is intergraded with the mobo, so can't reseat the card.
I did the battery thing and boot w/ old memory..
its no go....

yea doesn't mean u didn't built up static this time tho bro.. if u have a friend w/ spare parts u can try..i'd try another powersupply first..if that doesn't work, u need to RMA your motherboard and get another.

well I do still have a couple pcs runnin rite now, I can try those parts. Or.. I could just bring the pc back to the vendor and have'em look at it. It's still under warranty. But is this covered?? I dunno. I guess worst I could do is get a new mobo.

ok is this a PREBUILT like an HP / compaq or what? and if u take it to the vendor (i am a tech for bby, so here are the tricks hehe).. take out the ram and anything u put in..then take it to em and say my computer doesn't work (make it look UNTOUCHED) and tell em u don't know why. it isn't a lie. just tell em u tried to turn it on and it didn't power on.

Amro is right about emf, but you can work on a carpet if your careful. You can use an emf strap that's also grounded. Or you can simply make sure your touching the side of the case at all times.

One more thing, even though you had the puter powered down, did you shut off the juice to your power supply? If not, your mobo was still hot. Not a good thing to swap or add components.
