Can't access my router

At times when I click on my router url I will get disconnected.
During this time I can't access the Linksys BEFSR41 or the internet.
I start trying to ping the router and internet sites and it starts back working.
Also at times I get disconnected for no reason. Then in a while it reconnects. This has happen since I started using a router, at first I though it was my ISP until I found that during this time I couldn't ping my router.
I tried powering down everything and resetting the router but no help.
Anyone know why this is happening or how to correct the problem?

this may not help at all but it helped me once.. try to slow down the NIC card. from AutoSense to 10BaseT and see what results you get outta that.. if it works fine, try setting it back to AutoSense or 10BaseT Full_Duplex.. holla back

where did you buy your router?

it could be a bad router...
don't take my word for it wait to see what everybody else thinks/says first...

it could be a bad router indeed but so long the linksys name is stamped on it with the model #, it matters not where u buy it from. Just a thought

You might want to swap the router and see if it helps any. If it does, you got ur answer right there but do give that "slowing the NIC card" a try.

well it's easier if he bought it locally, he could just go to his local staples/compusa/frys and exchange it..

Have you tried reflashing the firmware? Sounds like it's only problem is it's OS, where it's struggling to cough up the web admin login prompt to you. The routers normally will power cycle when you program them and hit "apply", at which time they are down for at least several seconds, unable to respond. But it seems yours is doing this when you just try to log onto the web admin.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

For the last couple days there has been no more problem.

I may try the new firmware for I read it works with ICUII and I have never been able to get 1.39.1. to work with ICUII.
