Virus Warnings

Post by Brent »

Just to check in I suggest EVERYONE run a virus scan RIGHT NOW! :D

Just for precautionary measures, I've gotten reports that people have gotten some from me, and I have been recieving a LOT of them from other people as well....

So do you part and update those virus definitions and run a full scan if you can!

There are some free virus scanners out there on the web as well if you don't have one

this is a real good one here that's free: http://www.free-av.com/

I have to go reformat now damnit, it deleted all programs and I haven't been able to get rid of it with Norton, PC-Cillin, or anything else I have tried. Whenever I reboot it deletes all the anti-virus stuff

hehe

I got one from Ken today :D

actually what i think happens is the virus is on someone's computer, and it sends out to people in THEIR address books to other people in their address books, so since I and John, and Ken and other people etc... are on a lot of other people's address books out in the world stuff gets sent with our email address on it all the time......

The wierd thing is I dont' think I had the virus, I have Norton 2002 running constantly with the latest virus definitions, it checks my outgoing and incoming email automatically, and is set to quarenteen any virus where I then delete it.

I run a full scan every week, and I ran one last night, No virus's found.....

Right click on email>properties>details tab>message source...

They are all spoofed.

My box is tighter than Dicks hat band! ;)

They may spoof my email addy and send to someone else, but I doubt that they can slip me one... :D
