$45, their modem.

Sure not fast compared to other cable but sure beats dial up.

My cable company ad says 512 kbps down, 256 kbps up.

Strange why your up is so low? I always get around 250 up but usually 400 to 550 down. A lot I don't understand about all that.

the fact that their advertisement said "Up to". Rogers ( the cable provider says the same thing almost). It's a load of crap, but I choose DSL because it'd always be a steady 15K upload, so eh. Downloads are about a steady 130K a sec in real time, from most large sites and the best download I can reach with my dsl (which is capped with the docsis system) is 300K per sec in real time for .iso and .avi files.

what are ya'lls new speeds?

my speeds with ATTBI is 1.5mbps/128kbps

i've always had 128kbps, even with @Home, which sucks.... but i use to get really fast downloads, upwards of 4mbps with DOCSIS with @Home, and up to 8mbps without DOCSIS on @home a long long time ago, but i've always had the 128kbps upload cap

I havent done a test, but gosh this makes me happy. I pay $99 for ALL THIS:

+ over 150 cable channels
+ every possible premium channel
+ digital cable box
+ cable internet service
+ cable modem rental

Whenever I've called, I have had to wait in excess of an hour and half. However, they ALWAYS helped me. I'm very happy for how much I get, considering what I pay. Sometimes I do have 5-20 second periods where the web wont respond, but so what. Downloads continue on, as well as uploads. I did have a problem for over eight months, where I would lose my connection totally for brief periods. This ruined uploads and downloads, but theyve fixed that with an upgraded server.

I often download in excess of 400kb/s, which is hardly something to complain about either. Although, normally it keeps in the 200-300 range.
