Mine are No One Lives Forever, SWAT3, and Might&Magic's Heroes 3. I've won that game a few times. Its cool cause its always different. It a total stradigity game.

I agree, Max Payne is the Best So far, I don’t play many games either but this one has kept my attention, and seems like it has a good story to it.
Even though it bugs out sometime and gives me an out of vertex memory error or something like that.

That Snake game in DOS! lol I use to play that all the time back in HS in our typing class, we had fun just messin around hehe.
Seriously though this is a TOUGH CHOICE to pick my favorite
If I had to put my finger on a Favorite my Finalists would be:
Civilization 1 (maybe 2?)
Decent 1
Quake 2
Doom
Wolfenstein
Those were excellent games that brought me into computer gaming big time, and that's where I started. It's hard to pick a favorite among them, they are in difference classes.
For Strategy and Turn Based game: Civ2
For RPG/FPS: John
For FPS: Quake2

Doom and Duke Nukem introduced me to first person shooters. Ultima Underworld was not quite the same. The DeathMatch LAN party had become a testosterone driven laugh riot amoungst my friends. The really cool thing is that then ran on slow machines like 486's. They screamed on Pentiums. With the mess of slow boxes I have sitting around, I could easily set up my own LAN party for those games.

If you wanna go that route... wasn't the first FPS Wolfenstein 3D or Spear of Destiny?

No, there were FPS games before them. Hell, Carmack & crew did one before Wolf (forgot the name), and you could jump back a few more years to Ultima Underworld (not a shooter, but you know what I mean).

Sega was doing 3-D with polygons in 92/93 (Virtua Racing and Virtua Fighter). The Smithsonian had Virtua Fighter on display a while ago as the first true 3-D game.
