Windows ME using Cablenut and SG's tweak and a few of my own personal settings.

RWIN value 601520

Cox@home 3000/300 service in Providence RI

Latest Speed Test

Your Line Speed:

5132.6 kbps
641.5 Kb/sec

From HappyPuppy.com my actual speed on a 150 MB file is 598 Kb/sec

Due to a recent re-configuration for the upcomming switch to Cox.net I'm on an almost empty node :D

Yes. For Cyber2kPlat. , you will have to purchase them through the site I mentioned below. There is a free trial, but it's not as powerful as the real version. System.ini tweak can be found on the front page of SG, and VFD is in my sig. Also, VFD tweaks will be updated in a few days.

Search for Crazyman tweak or go to broadbandnuts and read their section

and I meant AFD instead of VFD. :)

Verizon Online DSL

Capped Speed: 640/90

Last Speed Test: 514/85

RWIN: 13068
MTU: 1492 (PPPoE)

Location: New Jersey
-----------------------------------------------------

A note to Eugene4Pres: DSLR recomends RWIN settings based on the advertised speed you enter in. If you have a cable internet connection, your cable company is probably vague on your advertised speed; they probably say "up to 100% Faster than a 56k modem", but it is likely that they do not give you any capped speeds. If you enter in a higher advertised number, DSLR will suggest higher RWINs. Try this: run a speed test and after you get the results, go to the DSLR tweak test and enter your speed test result plus about 100kbps. Then use the RWIN calculator in the DSLR faq to calculate what they think your RWIN should be.

I know how they work, but thanks for the theory explaining anyways. I tried all kinds of method back when I first got Broadband, and after 2 months of testing, since I don't really chat or play games that much, I found out that higher Rwins is usually better for Cable while DSL may suffer.

Verizon DSL independant isp

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 513920
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 20556.8 kbps (2569.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8222.72 kbps (1027.84 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 51 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Test running..........
** Speed 1237(down)/121(up) kbps **
(At least 24 times faster than a 56k modem)
Finish. :D

They are getting better still ;)

I think that would be for PPOE DSL I have standard DSL, Plus you can't change mss Windows figures it off of MTU I believe.
