i agree their funny, as you intended them to be...but why is everyone against this device? it could really revolutionize the way cities are built and reduce a lot of inner city pollution

I agree, really think about it, for inner-city travel it would greatly reduce pollution and traffic congestion, it would be perfect to get around in major downtown cities. Who knows, maybe someday we will have ports or parking lots where we drive our cars to up to the edge of the city, then get out of your car at the Segway Station to pick up your segway to travel around the city.

I think it would be pretty neat

yep, im glad someone agrees with me. a similar situation is already in place to a degree with washington dc, a majority of the metro (subway) stations outside of DC already have park and ride parking garages, u park and take the subway into the city and walk from there, the segway would make that even more feasable as the subway cant get you to every point in the city, and some people just cant walk or dont want to walk that far to get to where they are going, plus the security risks would be less with no motor vehicles inside the city

Oh? Wow! Lemme think how practical that would be...NOT! These things are a major accident waiting to happen. Funny thing is that many towns already have laws that make this scooter illegal. Laws were passed in many areas when kids started putting motors on those little razor scooter thingies.

Sir your thinking is one of the major reasons the US hasn't advanced as far as it could have. We have too many people with your logic in their brains in command of this country.

That was funny as hell, watching Dean Kamen chase around Russell Crowe like he was a little boy...

yep, i would have to actually ride one to be able to see how easy it really is, i cant imagine a machine that small doing what its doing, even if it doesnt catch on to the extend Kamen wants it too the technology will go far in other applications

he was probably more worried about liability as having Crowe ride one probably wasn't in the script, that stage isnt that big either if he was to get too close to the edge....

nobody is saying anything is wrong with walking, the point is that using a Segway would reduce the need for vechicles inside cities

Oh, I know...plus Russell had apparently been doing some drinking before the show...but it was still funny to watch :)

He must not have faith in his own invention if he's worrying about three guys riding around on them ;)

Just tuned in, Kamen was acting like an overprotective soccer mom (sorry for the redundancy).

Why do people like Kamen and Gates go on shows like this? They have no social skills and end up hurting their company’s image.

like i said earlier, its a liability issue, if one of them rides right into the wall or off the stage it wouldn't be the Segway's fault, but you can imagine that everyone will blame it on the Segway and Kamen

Leave the PR to the professionals...never let the inventor try to hype the product...almost always fails...

I still want a Segway...

My dad said he would get me when I get my AS in about a year and a half...if they've been released for the general public by then...
