How so you increase upload speed?
How so you increase upload speed?
How can we adjust or increase the upload speed of our computers. I've done all of the different speed tweaks and still have a upload speed result of about 85kbps.
I'm running Win XP Pro.
AMD 1212MHZ
512MB PC 133 SDRAM
Linsys Model LNE100TX Etherfast 10/100 Lan Card
Using @HOME cable service which I believe the upload cap is set to 128kbps. I can't even get nearly that much.
Can you guys help?
I've enclosed my Analyzer report from Speedguide.net.
TCP properties for IP = xx.x.xxx.xx ()

Lobo will give you some instructions on how to tweak the downloading speed. However, I problably can help you on the uploading. Is Cablenut Adjuster installed? if not, download it from my sig below. I also need to know the Cap, since you can't go beyond the cap, that would be illegal.
Live to chase your dream...
How do you increase upload speed?
Cable nut is installed. (Don't connect wihtout it)!
Cap 128kbps.

Bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside Cablenut on desktop the numbers below go in 3 places in W2k and XP, they are: DefaultReceiveWindow, TcpWindowSize, GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize, take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try: 51100, 554800, 560640, 578160
You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer
At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work. Click on tools at top of IE, internet options, delete files and offline files (This is safe, temp files) and click on clear history after EVERY test . Quick speed test : choose location closest to you: http://www.speakeasy.net/main.php?page=sup_pops
Speedtest may open another browser, so check taskbar and close other, no other programs should be running, No AIM, ICQ, Virus scanner, Firewall, nothing
1.) Make sure defrag has been run, defragmented files slow you down.
2. At top of IE, click on Tools, internet options, click on delete files and click on offline files (It's safe), click on clear history, yes
3.) Go to Start button, programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup, Click OK (Safe)
4.) Run scandisk (Short version)
5.) Scandisk on XP?
Click on My Computer, select Drive that XP is on, RIGHT click on BLANK place, select properties, then tools at top tab, click check now, check box automattically fix system errors, click start.
Once you find fast number for you, you want to save it, on file at top of adjuster click on that, save custom settings, put RWIN size in as name and click on save, now if you ever want these settins back, click on file, open custom settings file, and click on RWIN number, then click on save to registry at bottom, and REBOOT, your done. How to do real dowwnload test on help thread below in signature. This is all I recommend, if anyone else jumps in with something else, good luck, but it did not come from me
Blank boxes in adjuster just mean default values are being used.
Also add NIC Buffer setting's in adjuster: These setting's are for people with Speedguide's speed patch installed.
InitialLargerBufferCount- 48
InitialMediumBufferCount- 96
InitalSmallBufferCount-150
LargerBufferSize-40960
MaxFastTransmit-2
MediumBufferSize- 1805
PriorityBoost-0
SmallBufferCount- 430
SAVE SETTING's so we do not have to do this again, directions above, good luck.
If you are not from USA go to http://www.testmyspeed.com and select test site close to you
Please PRINT copy of adjuster so you can have it in case

How can I speed up my upload speeds?
Lobo the setting changes seemed to help. However, I didn't see a HUGE improvement. The upload speed's I was recieving before were stuck around 80kbps now im up to at least 110kbps. I ended up using the Nic adjustments you sent along with 578160 as my default recieve window. These settings seemed to give me a pretty stable connection.
Take a look below and let me know if there is anything else that might help me with obtaining the 128kbps that I wish I could get.
