"** Speed 41(down)/220(up) kbps ** About modem speed!"

Help! I used to be about 35-40 times faster then a 56K. I have Win 2K on a 600MHZ Celron with 128MB RAM. I installed "sguide_tweak_2k" and "SpeedGuide Web Patch", the used the "fast 2000" settings in cablenuts program, and yet I'm downloading at 41 :( .

What can I do?

TCP options string = 020405b40103030101010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 128480
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 1 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 5139.2 kbps (642.4 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2055.68 kbps (256.96 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 32 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

from what i've ehard from lobo and crispy you should not install both patches. You should either install the sg patches or the cablenut patches. Should also delete all tweaks before switching over

Right. The SG patch will overwrite the cablenut patch or the cablenut patch will overwrite the SG patch. Figure out which one you want and load it last.
People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

It's about 8:30AM here and I get about 35 times the speed of a 56K from DSLreports and

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

Bring up Cablenuts adjuster inside Cablenut on desktop the numbers below go in 3 places in W2k and XP, they are: DefaultReceiveWindow, TcpWindowSize, GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize, take out number that is in there and put in one of these, 1 at a time, try: 51100, 513920, 522680 or 524176

You do not have to show me but check analyzer here at SG to make sure RWIN is in, you will see number right after (RWIN) on analyzer

At bottom click save to registry, and REBOOT each time you change value in adjuster or it will not work. Click on tools at top of IE, internet options, delete files and offline files (This is safe, temp files) and click on clear history after EVERY test . Quick speed test : choose location closest to you: http://www.speakeasy.net/main.php?page=sup_pops
Speedtest may open another browser, so check taskbar and close other, no other programs should be running, No AIM, ICQ, Virus scanner, Firewall, nothing
1.) Make sure defrag has been run, defragmented files slow you down.
2. At top of IE, click on Tools, internet options, click on delete files and click on offline files (It's safe), click on clear history, yes
3.) Go to Start button, programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup, Click OK (Safe)
4.) Run scandisk (Short version)
5.) Scandisk on XP?
Click on My Computer, select Drive that XP is on, RIGHT click on BLANK place, select properties, then tools at top tab, click check now, check box automattically fix system errors, click start.

Once you find fast number for you, you want to save it, on file at top of adjuster click on that, save custom settings, put RWIN size in as name and click on save, now if you ever want these settins back, click on file, open custom settings file, and click on RWIN number, then click on save to registry at bottom, and REBOOT, your done. How to do real dowwnload test on help thread below in signature. This is all I recommend, if anyone else jumps in with something else, good luck, but it did not come from me
Blank boxes in adjuster just mean default values are being used.

Also add NIC Buffer setting's in adjuster: These setting's are for people with Speedguide's speed patch installed.

InitialLargerBufferCount- 48
InitialMediumBufferCount- 96
InitalSmallBufferCount-150
LargerBufferSize-40960
MaxFastTransmit-2
MediumBufferSize- 1805
PriorityBoost-0
SmallBufferCount- 430

Priority boost for XP is 10

SAVE SETTING's so we do not have to do this again, directions above, good luck.

If you are not from USA go to http://www.testmyspeed.com and select test site close to you
