Qwest won't credit Code Red victims

Post by hazmatcar »

SEATTLE--The state attorney general has asked Qwest to give refunds to customers who lost high-speed Internet connections as a result of the "Code Red" computer worm attack, but the Denver-based Internet access provider is refusing.

Hmm why should they? Are they responsible for some m0r0ns idea of a good time?

They stipulate in the user agreement they don't have to pay squat due to downtime, considering how 'new' the technology is with xDSL services.

I should know... I have Q-worst's megabit services. I just did my research... and figured out what the problem was, and dealt with it.

Sux... but thats how the service works.

Crappy tech support.
Crappy Cisco product (well not really, I like it)
Crappy ****head who wrote the code.

Thanks for your input, I dont think any Broadband Company would give out refunds on that large of a scale. Most of the companys are not making much money off broadband any way
Most have filed some kind of dept prortection or gone away
all together. I just thougth it was a good story to let everyone
know these companys are not ready to give anything away money or free service. I have comcast great service but they to are having problems of there own maybe one day custumers will get breaks like free service and lower rates. To me broad
band is like crack I tried it once and I am hooked. I will never go back to dail up.. :)

I agree with the above. Don't give them their money back. It isn't the fault of the ISP that the people didn't patch their sysytems. I am also sure the ISP gave them notices and warnings that their service would be taken away if they didn't patch their systems. I still have blinking traffic lights on my cable modem, and I hoping RR will kill the service of the morons down here in San Antonio that still havent patched their computers.
