I need serious help....
Hey I been away for a while but now im bak. I wish it could be under better circumstances though... Heres my Prob.
My puter just started doing this about a week ago. Ill be working on something or just surfin, ill hear a small clik ( kinda like when a dial-up disconnects, but no thats not what happens that just the sound ) Then i get one of the following. The blue screen of death telling me unable to write to drive C: OR i get no message just total freeze. Then this is the worst part, when i restart i get the lovly message "Operating System Not Found" But if i turn it back off then on again ( several times it usually takes ) it will work fine untill it decides to throw another fit.... so my question is WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG!!! I cant figure it out i tried. I am hoping you answers are not... well just re install. but if thats the thing to do i can do that no prob i just dont want to if its something small. Well thanx hope you can help.

WEll thanx guys and i should mention it happens at different times no matter what im doing. I already ran through scandisk checking for surface errors, None. Then i ran norton utilities and checked for disk surface erros, None. I then rand all other norton utilites system checks, not 1 error that it found. Im gonna go to bed now and if more people suggest reformatting, i will in the morning , if i have to, i guess.
thanx again

http://www.maxtor.com has some tools in the support section for both brands since they bought quantum.
powermax is the maxtor diag tool. i didnt see one for the Quantum drive.
if powermax checking the maxtor drive doesnt work try putting the swap on ur maxtor and just unplug the Q drive if it only has mp3s on it.
thats about all i can think of.

Is the click coming from your hard drive? It may be failing and that's why the bios can't find the op-sys.
I had a computer, the other day, that would not find the op-sys (Operating System Not Found) on boot. Turns out the mobo had a bad IDE channel and would not recognize the hard drive.

reseat cables and you will probably have to format and reinstall...if that does not work you might have a failing hdd
Everybody is taking the Afghan war lightly, but in the meantime the realisation that a full-blown war is in progress creates all the uncertainties (and inevitable surprises) that wars always produce.
