Good Security Scanner.

Post by IronMan »

Well i figured id make my first post here... just a security tip.. after searching the net for hours i finally found a good site that has a decent security scanner. http://www.SecurityLogics.com
the first test is free and it does a good job. Results are put in clear direct words. I use Zonealarm Pro 2.6 and BlackIce for intrusian detection. I wont post my results kuz lol i need to fix 2 things.. :( but otherwise my system passed with flying colors in fact check this email out from them..

Your Security Check with testid: 169452 is still processing. This normally
means we have encountered a secure firewall.

We will send you an email when your Security Check is finished. We apologize
for the delay.

Thank you,

SecurityLogics.com

Thanks Ironman...welcome to SPEEDGUIDE.
That site gave me "STEALTH" for all the ports checked....not bad. However, I am behind a router and TPF, so that is to be expected, under the circumstances.
It seems a lot more through than grc and on par with DSLREPORTS...but I do like it.
Thanks Again

Hey guys thanx for all the welcomes. ken it seems like i have no security probs that any tests picked up, much like fredra it said stealth on all my ports. Seems as of now ZAP is doing its job. Seems like a lot of Tiny fans around here though... Ill have to give that a try i just dread uninstalling ZAP the right way but hey ill try anything. Thanx again. L8r

Ironman, welcome and enjoy your stay here.

Just a suggestion here about uninstalling ZoneAlarm while you try TINY...... Don't. Turn ZoneAlarm off at startup and leave it on your system. D/load TINY and let it run in default until you get a grip on what it will do.
If you are networking only load Tiny on the systems coming into the server and use WinRoute Pro on the server. WinRoute is a Tiny Software product and will do most if not all that Tiny will.

Hope this helps.

Hey emixnem
Not suggesting that ZA is bad...if you want to set it and forget it, then ZA is the best thing since sliced bread.
If you want to control over your firewall, then TPF is prefferable.
We (collectively) can assist you on the setting up of Tiny, if you want to.... fellow forum members have set it up very nicely (jug and bluejetta) to name a few...they have taught me a feew new tricks also (never too late to learn).
However, the offer of helping you is always here, if you need it.
