IE: Open In New Window

Post by Hatchling »

I recently had to re-install IE 5.5, and when I right click on a link to open it in a new window, the new browser opens up as a small, 3" x 3" box on the screen.

I know it's no big deal, but is there anyway so I could have it open up a new browser as maximized so I wouldn't have to do it myself?

There is no way to get it to maximize when you open it in a new window but what you can do is press ctrl+n and then click on the link. ctrl-n open a new window the same size as the current one.

I hope this helps.

try making the new window as big as possible (using the resizers) without actaully hitting the maximize button. then close the window. try opening it in a new window again... hopefully that helps you

Went ahead and opened a new browser, resized it, and opened a new browser which is the same size :)

Closed out the other browsers and went back to the original one, opened a new browser and found that it had reverted back to its original, smaller size :(

Damn, never had this problem before, but its been a while since I had a fresh copy of IE installed on my computer. I'll try and solve this if it kills me :D

Open 1 browser window. (if it opens maximized, click the middle button in top right corner.) Size the window to whatever size you want. Then close it.

Next time you open IE it will open to that size. Now maximize the window if you want. Alll "new" windows will open to the size you set the first one at (but not maximized)
