Who uses OC-255

Post by MrTRiX »

If there is such a connection who uses it?
I think I've done enough conventions to know how to spell Melllvar.

That kind of connection is for corporate use and no one here could afford to get it for personal use.

corporate use?? You over estimate the corporate world. Last time i checked the worlds backbones were at oc 192. These are only used as backbones, not for corporations. Corporations rent smaller connections which are connected to backbones. I have never heard of an oc 255.

My office has 2x OC192's between our datacenters. They are used for comunication, and for nightly backups/replication between datacenters

bilbus quit replying to ****ing year 2001 posts, this is the second time tonight I have wasted time on you because of outdated links being atop of google searches due to your 9 year too late replies....Dude, you are seriously annoying. I had never been to this site before now, and yours are the first two posts i read.....jeez

Edit: Actually I am an asshat..Sorry bilbus after reading more of your posts I see you are trying to be of help to folks like me who have questions. I just wish the first posts I read from you had not been you replying to 9 year old posts, but I guess only because I had questions about telco pricings I wound up there. I had a bit to drink lol, and was all too ready to hit reply.

Only thing you can really do is call several providers and get pricing from them. Prices change constantly, also depends on what services you want with it, combining telephone service on them. And with fiber and other optiman packages out there, just..call, get pricing, it's very dynamic.
