My dad and I might be moving out there in a couple of weeks. If we do is there anything a young guy my age might like.
Well… you can go to the space needle (tell your dad to bring all his money). They have a restaurant on top that serves pretty good food, but the reason you go is for the view of the sound. Very pretty. Go to the “Fisherman market” on Pike street (great sea food and shops), take a ferry ride over to Bremerton and check out the Navy ships (lots of subs out there). Mt. Rainier is pretty impressive if you like drives and of course… you can take a trip to the Microsoft campus. Please note the smell of money in the air.
It's a very nice town!

People will forget what you said... and people will forget what you did... but people will never forget how you made them feel.
I think you said it all Doc! I was there for three weeks for training and enjoyed everything you mentioned above. If I ever transfer to another area, Seattle will be on the top of the list.Originally posted by MadDoctor

The fact that Seattle is directly above a masive fault didn't even bother me, even the threat of Mt. Rainier erupting had no effect on my trip.
Bad side: Population is very big, any place that has car pool lanes is trouble.
Guess I should have mentioned that (the traffic). It’s got to be the worst traffic on the west coast. If you’re going to be visiting (just checking out the area) stay in a motel near down town. You don’t even want to commute. If you do drive, make sure it’s not in the morning during the normal commute and not in the evening. Before 7:00pm. However… if you allow for such things, it can be a great time. Oh by the way… it does rain a bit up there.
If you get down to the town of Renton, make sure you check out the Boeing museum. They’ve got a lot of planes there to include an “Black Bird” called an SR-71. When I saw that plane, it made the trip to Seattle most memorable.

Hit up Rick's in Lake City, which is north Seattle.
How old are you by the way, cuz seattle is more of a city for older people, 21 and over. But if you're at least 18 you can still hit up some 18 and older clubs such as, polyesters, ballard firehouse, and dv-8. If you get here soon enough there's "HOt Import Night's" in august. Lots of exotic cars and exotic women!!!
