hey you know what else teirney? you and I spoke of our love of old hollywood, well my uncle was the head of the sound dept for many years at MGM,he and my dad were also child actors, like in "tale of two cities" my dad was the little boy that got ran over by the speeding horse wagon, and they were in some others too,and my dad was in the 50's and 60's managing such theatres as the Cinerama Dome,The egytian, and other famous hollywood theaters, back when big production hollywood premieres were around.I remember at the dome as a kid when " battle of the bulge" was premeiring and playing by the tanks and fake snow in the parking lot on hollywood blvd.it was cool....in those days.it's sort of in my blood, big dummy me though never went into any part of the business.I work on cars and computers,,no fame there huh?lol...keep on having a great day......Dan :)

You are so lucky to have that in your childhood. Being 42 I grew up watching B&W movies. There is nothing now to compare to the quaility of acting that those old movies had.
Those old movies were entertainment pure and simple. The actors had to earn their way through Hollywood, not like today, I have never seen so many untalented actors and very bad movies as the ones they throw at us now.

As always Teirney :)

Cool story. Did any of the flowers have a card signed by Rock Hudson? It would probaby be worth a small fourtune.

I'm not sure, but I do know that my dad kept a autograph book with him,and he has all the biggies signed to him, from M monroe ,to Mickey Roonie,to F Sinatra,to all those old famous people.I mean he's got a whole book filled,he keeps in a safe box.

Geez that's really neat crazyman

i've been a film nut all my life. all B&W then, with Bogart,Stewart,Joel McCray, Roonie,

Karlof, 3 Stooges, Stan & Ollie, Gene Autry, Errol Flynn man those were the days.

i as a kid was taken to the movies with my Mom & Gramma and they would give you

cups and saucers as well as glasses and dishes on Wed. & Thursday nights i think

to draw a midweek crowd. All day Staurday was kids day. 10AM till 5pm Westerns,

they Dead End Kids and the serials, man it was fun, then Air Conditioning and

the movie theaters went nuts on hot nights as people flocked there to escape te heat.

Great actors as teirney said, but better even than that & more important imho was

great writers, now it's 2 grunts, 105 swear words and 3 car crashes and its all over,

most today suck.

oh i forgot the nude scenes very important to convey the storyline. not

oh well at least i got to see the best parts and can remember

How i envy you those oppotunities to see it so up close..

regards minir
