I don't like basketball but am curious as to why the call Dennis Rodman the worm. I know one of you guys has the answer, so why?

i dont know why they call him the worm, but i do know that he has

1. Kicked a camera man
2. (I Think) Punched out a coach
3. Has sweared and stuff on live tv

and stuff like that, add to the list if you can guys!

hmm he's had that nickname since at least when he was here in Detroit. He wasn't even an a-hole than. Can't for the life of me think of why he was called the worm. Maybe because he was tall and skinny?

He is one strange guy no doubt. It seems no one knows where the name came from or why, I've been trying to find this out for awhile.

I see he was in court for his loud parties, hope the judge gives him Heelll

I believe it stems from his ability to "worm' in & out of situations on the court. He's sneaky defensive player and led the league in rebounds at one point. To get that many rebouinds one must be able to "worm" his way into position to be able to get the ball.

That makes sense, he was really good at what he did, too bad he had to mess that up for himself.
