ftp? cable or dsl?

ftp? cable or dsl?

well i just moved into a area that has road runner, but ive herd alot about cable upload begin capped at 15k(form friends on the net). witch i can alreddy get on my dail up.

i would only want download speed but my problem is i want to run a ftp with divx and mpeg files 100 mb + and id have 6-10 ppl downloading form me 24/7 so

wait for DSL, or get road runner ?

Wait for DSL, and be sure you read the AUP before you sign up.

Road Runner will not permit you to run any server, let alone a high-volume FTP.

Just out of curiosity, you do own the rights to all the material you will be allowing others to upload, right?

Just a side note if you get caught running an FTP the cable co will most likely terminate your service. But who really cares about that right? I would get cable.

Roadrunner upload capped at 15Kbs in your area???? Where do you live? Lowest RR caps I've heard of are 1500Kbs down and 300Kbs up. I have RR (So. Cal) and thought I had it bad...

no someone i know thru the net has a cap of 15k. also yea i own the dvds, and cable is the only thing here right now, DSL is a few miles away but are lines are so crappy here

You sure that the person you "know thru the net" understands how to read bandwidth figures?? 15K is a poor dial up speed.

(Also, owning a commercial DVD is not the same as having the legal right to making it available for copying the material on it.)

would he be in trouble b/c the ftps arent allowed, or because they had illegal material on them (divx)?
