TCP options string = 020405b4010303020101080a000000000000000001010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1448, which is less than MSS because of Timestamps, or other TCP/IP options used.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 50 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

This is b4 i made my speed tweaks.. be back with the patches applied..

In Cablenuts adjuster you may change RWIN, in W2K 3 places on adjuster, 1-box Default Recieve Window, 2. box- GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize 3. box-TcpWindowSize,
try 1 at a time 513920, 522680, 524176, save to registry at bottom and reboot each time you change a value :) :)

what value do i set 1-box Default Recieve Window, 2. box- GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize 3. box-TcpWindowSize?

im still learning all these, so i ask stupid questions.... sorry :p

Put the each suggested RWIN in those three places, one reboot at a time. (example: 511104 in all three places)

not really... it actually seems slower... b4 i changed the 3 settings to 524176 i can download the SP1 off microsoft at 350kps+
now it was going at 240kpbs or less...

will try 522680 then 513920

also..

i have a SOHO 10/100 ethernet card... and in the properties... i can set the speed to 100 full duplex.. is this good? the options are:

100 full duplex
100 half duplex
10 full duplex
10 half duplex
auto speed detect

would this effect my up/downloads or should i just leave it at auto speed detect?

The setting on your NIC card is not the same as the one in BIOS, that one should be full if you want to talk and hear at same time :)
