Little help with a tweaking

Post by faoliveira »

I got a really serious problem with PS3 downloads, it takes 7 hours to download 17% of 7GB. Well, i gonna try to put optimized values for MTU etc, and take advantage of to my pc also.

1. What is your advertised internet speed ? 12Mbps/800kbps
2. What actual transfer speed do you get?
speedguide.net: 1911 kbps (~1.91 Mbps, 233 KB/s) / 401 kbps (~0.4 Mbps, 49 KB/s)
speedtest.net: 40ms /11.99Mbps / 0.76 Mbps
simet.nic.br/teste: Testing a server really close. Result with jitter, ping etc. PDF output

3. Who is your Internet Provider (ISP), and what type of connection do you have ? Videomar Rede Nordeste S/A and Cable
4. What are your current settings ?

Is it just PS3 downloads taking a long time to download?

Yes, pc does normal. Only the PS3 is extremely slow, and the router is not so far from him (signal 90~100%) but not as close to plug it cable

Could be a router setting causing the issue. I'm not familiar with DD-WRT settings. Try finding a long ethernet cord to rule out the router, or if you have an another router without DD-WRT firmware, try it.

Cordless phones with less than 6.0Ghz signal can cause wireless issues also.

With the original Linksys firmwire gave the same slowness. put the DD-WRT by having more options to see if any could solve it. I'll try to get a long ethernet cable
