Network Monitoring Tool

Post by reaser »

I'm looking for a tool that will give me a list of all workstations it scans and finds with the hardware/software report and also ability to telnet, remote restart and things like that. I've seen a variation of tools that do some of this but not all. There must be an all in one app for this?

Anyone? Shareware, Open Source?

Check out http://www.lansweeper.com/ it's free features give you a good percentage of what you're looking for. Higher end features require a paid version...but it's a decent start.

The OP is looking for network/hardware inventory...quote..." list of all workstations it scans and finds with the hardware/software report and also ability to telnet, remote restart and things like that."

employee monitoring has nothing to do with that....if you want big brother/monitoring software, you'll want something like SpectorSoft.

I'm actually testing spiceworks and it seems to be ok. Ye lansweeper looks like it is not free. Is there a free version with limited features?

You download/install a trial version of the premium version....and when that trial expires...you can load a key for premium or enterprise that you've purchased...or...it will revert to the "Free" version with a few less features (but it's still quite useful for most people).

Why don't you spammers ever learn the category of your crapware? Or get a better grasp on the english language? This is "network monitoring" as in "management" software...monitor the hardware of servers, workstations, routers, switches. RMM software. Products like Solar Winds and Cacti and N-Able offer. Not software that allows you to spy on the activities of employees.
