Help with RAM.video editing Issues.

I have the Asus K52F-BBR5 Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.00Ghz/core 3GB DDR3 RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Bone stock,just got it about couple weeks ago. Anyway,I finally Ran into a wall,VIDEO EDITING!
no matter what program I use,Pinnacle Studio,Video Spin,Video Pad Editor.(except Windows movie maker,since it doesnt have slow motion and advanced features) I get really high CPU. I can edit my vids fine but once I start doing slow motion on my videos, it either doesnt show or its not synced, or I get a exclamation mark in the preview box in Pinnacle studio 14(full version)
just to find out if it was just at the moment I finished the project and played it and when I used slow mo in those certain parts theres was a random part of the video?

Does that Mean I need More RAM???
I found a few Ram Sticks on Newegg and wanted to spend the least money but still upgrade to 8GB of RAM here are the links,Starting with the lowest price to highest.
Please Help me out.

It should work with 3 gigs of RAM...but here are some tips for video editing workstations:
*Get a second hard drive....and add that to your pagefile..so that Windows is paging virtual memory on both HDDs. You want to spread our your pagefile.sys so it's running on disks other than the OS/%system% drive.

*Crank up your RAM.....especially since you have 64 bit Windows. I just built a video editing workstation for a buddy of mine to give to his daughter for XMas. Did 16 gigs of RAM, pair of 1TB Western Digital Black Edition drives with 64 megs of cache each, and an ATI 1gig video card (I think it was a 5870)

*Set the 2nd drive for your editing programs workspace drive.

The OS shows two parts in "My computer">OS(C:)26.6GB free of 72.6GB and there's also one Saying> Data(D:)201GB free of 205GB.
in the Data(D:) i save all my videos I capture with my EasyCAP,and from there i get the videos. Also how do I avoid using less OS(C:) memory as It seems all the Data is saved in that portion...and I im afraid if I move certain files over to Date(D:) portion,the files will get corrupted and It will be a mess.
Oh and by the way the Virtual memory on (C:) and (D:) are set to system managed.
I also have on the side a external Western Digital Hard Drive already formatted and has 158GB of 160GB 7200RPM,came out from a Desktop and have the USB enclosure for it using wall outlet power and then connecting to USB(has few programs I have for backup and few songs)But I rarely use it.

Is this a single hard drive that is partitioned?
Partitioning drives won't do much, you want an entirely second physical hard drive....separate spindle...which will be able to handle concurrent loads with your primary drive. Having a single hard drive..even though partitioned, can only take a certain load..and things queue up...since it's a single hard drive. Think of it like a single line of people at the ticket box of aa movie theater..."one at a time". Or trying to work with something just using 1x arm and hand. Multiple physical drives can work concurrently handling multiple loads. Like having 2x lines at the ticket box at the movie theater. Or working with 2x arms and hands.

Yeah A single HDD that is partitioned.
OOOoooh didnt know that,its common sense i guess, so what are my options just Run the WD USB external HDD as a system managed virtual memory?and of course the (D:) also as virtual mem.
Also anyway to overclock the Graphics card.and is it even worth it?(i have no experience about overclocking)
Also are you saying that upgrading my RAM to 8GB is my last resort then.....
Also is it a good idea to remove (C:) partition from virtual memory?

I don't think I'd put the virtual memory on the external USB drive...that's slow and CPU intensive. (USB bus)
Strive for purchasing a 2nd hard drive....Newegg has a lot of good sales. Go for drives with larger amounts of cache on them.
Don't worry about overclocking the video card...you don't need fast graphics for video editing.

I'm looking at the specs for you computer and you might want to ... Install a faster 7200rpm drive if you can swing it. I can't find the spec if it has space for an additional HDD (I would think it does). Check your manual. Installing a 2nd HDD in a laptop is about the easiest thing you can do with a laptop. If you do buy another HDD make sure it's 7200rpm spindle

My bad...I incorrectly assumed that, when I saw "Asus K52F-BBR5"...that meant a model of motherboard..meaning home built computer.
While some laptops support a second hard drive...would have to refer to the doc's to see if it has a free bay for one.

Well if there is space for a hard drive,I will put it in this baby.
Now like is said few times, what RAM stick should I get from the links I provided in the earlier posts.(first the lowest last the highest,Im willing to pay)
It seems all of them are Identical...?
