Slow Internetconnection (TCPOptimizer didn't helped)

Hej guys,

I'm Alex and a new member of this community. I hope you can help me to increase my download-speed. I tried a lot of things, like the TCPOptimizer, the tipps at speedguide.net (in the commandline), but nothing changed.

My ISP is UPC.

I have the inode Take IT max package. The connection speed should be 20.000 kBit/s download and 1.024 kBit/s upload. All the speedtest are close to the following one:

3097 kbps down (~3.1 Mbps, 378 KB/s) ↓
769 kbps up (~0.77 Mbps, 94 KB/s) ↑

Details:
3072 KB downloaded in 8.126 seconds
1024 KB uploaded in 10.907 seconds
58 times faster than 56k dialup

My FritzBox tells me that I should have 17.000 kBit/s download , also the helpdesk of my ISP toled my this. They couldn't helped

I also tried to connect me with the cable; nothing changed :/

If I start 4 downloads at the same time, the sum of all are close to 17.000 kBit/s. But in the speedtest i get only 3.000-5.000 kBit/s download. Why?

Have you got latest driver for Win 7 ? NIC Specially ?

It means Auto-tuning is turned off ! Try using patch : http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php

When done correctly, RWIN Scaling will be > 0 !

Sry, I tried the patch and after this I tried some other tipps. Now I did the patch again. here are the results:

Use HijackThis to fix userinit line !

Run > msconfig > Startup type > uncheck all update softwares (or use Firewall) !

Then check your speed at http:/speedtest.net, IDM speed test (download a large file in your country)

Rolling? if he delete the userinit................ may be he wont be able to boot anymore. there is a special way to remove that and it is a difficult one

I also did the IDM speed test (ftp://ftp.inode.at) I just got 600 KB/s so still the same speed. Could it be possible, that Win7 limit the speed per dowload to 600/800 KB/s?

Technically, Upload can not be tweaked ! But you can try entering DefaultSendWindow (in Cablenut) 131072 !

I installed a download Manager, because I never got more then 600KB/s. I don't know why. I read in an other thread, that Win7 limit the speed to 600KB/s. But I don't know, how to fix this (the download manager helped, because he starts more then one connection) Think I have to live with this!
