good to hear

here is a good site where you can see what candidates vote for and stand in

http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm

here is what thompson has voted and not voted for

http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Fred_Thompson.htm

and can compare to say democrstas such as obama

http://www.ontheissues.org/Barack_Obama.htm

Obama is also big on universal heath care like hillary, main reason why i wont vote for either one

I REALLY don't want socialized health care...or socialized anything, for that matter.

Nope, you'd rather have a system where many millions of citizens have no health insurance and maybe even end up bankrupt paying expensive medical bills. =]

Go U.S.A!

I like Thompson as a person although I do need to study up on some of his views on the issues. I do think he's a more like nominee then Mr. Closet Democrat Rudy.

The thing that worries me about Thompson is whether the average voter will be able to separate him from the characters he's played in movies and on TV.

Probably not. In fact the exposure would probalby help him. It never hurt Reagans run for political office.

Ever gave it a thought why Great Britian is so bloody expensive besides the fact it's an island nation? The govt. needs to make it's money back from the pounds given to health care issues etc.

We just need to make the health insurance companies compete for business.

It's not so expensive in the UK.

For an American travelling to the UK, of course, with the currency conversion, you'd end up paying nearly double what you're used to.

I'm not saying the UK system is without flaws and problems (it is!), but I feel that a public system, where everybody has free access to good healthcare, is only a good thing. It needs more money pumped into it (not into a false war), hell, it needs a lot of things. But just like I believe education should be free, I think healthcare should be free. And when we say free, we mean, a nominal amount is taken from our salary for "National Insurance".

As for the government making money back... they have been for a long time. We have the cheapest petrol in the whole of Europe, but we _pay_ more for it, than the rest of Europe. Heh... nice.

Go U.S.A!

in a non-socialist govt it is not the govt job to provide health care

here is how obama plans on paying for it

http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/05/29/ ... index.html
Obama didn't mention that his plan would cost the federal treasury an estimated $50 billion to $65 billion a year once fully implemented. That information was provided in a memo written by three outside experts and distributed by the campaign after his speech.

either way both hillary and obama know they wont be doing it and just trying to win votes

What? Is the current presidential puppet so unconvincing that the Republicans are now bringing in professional actors? :D ;)
