My son Chris is coming along

Post by blebs »

Some of you caught that my son was involved in a head on with a drunk driver back on Sept 16th, well after his first graft died, this is the second attempt:

For those of you that had asked about it, thought you'd like the update.

I take it that no one would like to lick his toes?

Thank you for the update. Ow!! That looks so very painful!! Is he home? Or still in the hospital? Does he have to undergo therapy now after this latest graft? Can you visit him often or keep in contact? Geezo...who dropped a quarter in this question machine!!

Prayers and best wishes headed your way for him, and the family as well. Keep us informed...he must be a fighter just as his Dad was and is..courage and inner strength kinda tends to run in the family lines, especially with such an excellent example in you. :p

We just got him home Thursday last week after 6 operations. He has a 4 to 6 week break before the next one. He has more screws, brackets and pins in his ankle then most building foundation do. It's amazing that he could keep the foot at all.

He lost his future mother in law in the accident. She was killed on impact. His fiancee lost her left kidney, spleen and had massive internal bleeding, but made it. She is currently back in the hospital with bowel blockage.

He is depressed and with good reason. This is going to be a very long road to recovery and very painful every step of the way. The drunk is in jail on a 3.5 million dollar bond and is set to go before the Grand Jury in 2 weeks or so. State of Ohio is charging him with 1 felony count of aggravated vehicular homicide and 3 counts of aggravated vehicular assault. He had no license, no insurance and was just released from prison in April. He was out celebrating his birthday and violating parole. He decided to pass 2 vehicles and a tanker truck on a curve doing 120mph.

For Gods sakes people, please don't drink and drive!

Downhill do you think you can get Bouncer and a few others over here and remove this black cloud that resides over us? We've had all we can take and more.

Good Lord!! I do not remember all of that. What a terrible tragedy...one alone would have been tough enough to struggle with...but this is a whole lifetime worth of emotional struggles, besides the physical, all wrapped up in one package!! I am so very sorry. Thank you for answering my questions, that must have been painful for you as well....just the recall...stay together, be strong for one another. Angel Blessings

so sorry Blebs,... to say that situation is tragic, is a understatement. Prayers go out to you and your family. No matter what the s.o.b. that hit them gets, justice is not served. My Mom got hit by a drunk driver also, when I was young.

Ross I can't even imagine the grief that your family and your future daughter-in-laws family is going through. :(

The guy obviously doesn't have a bit of respect for human life.

I'd like to send your son a card. Can you give us an address? PM is fine if you want to keep it confidential.

No there isn't. I'd gladly pay anyone to take the black cloud that resides over us and has since 1991, away! Every year since, it's been one catastrophe after another. Pretty soon, all the times that you've been told things will get better, seems like lies.

I snuck it in when Chris (Martian God) had his blow out and I guess he thought I was directing thoughts toward him, which I wasn't, but that's all water under the bridge now.

Not a problem DH. I was simply trying to say that people can be jackasses while under the influence and that as a result, innocent people can get hurt and it's all uncalled for. In Jeremy Riley's case, he's a career loser and has no respect for others or the law. He's the type of guy that smiles as he kills you. Loss of life and maiming of others is not something to take lightly. My whole point was simply to draw attention to how stupid we can be under the influence and NOT TO DRIVE while in that state.

Very slow. Were trying to find a way for Chris to be able to soak the foot in the tub or a basin, but we need something to support his ankle, as he cannot stand the pain of allowing it to dangle unsupported long enough to get it to water. I need to fashion some sort of water soluable splint or something.
