JAKARTA, Indonesia, Feb. 7 -- A team of scientists has discovered a lost world of rare plants, giant flowers and bizarre animals -- including a new species of honeyeater bird, a tree kangaroo and an egg-laying mammal -- on a mist-shrouded mountaintop in a remote province of Indonesia on New Guinea island.

I was there last week...it was OK.
I got a bad sunburn and some black and orange bird kept taking my beer.
Just like Mexico...don't drink the water!

The article said that the animals were going near them. I would think then that they have had human contact before then.

Actually I'd think the opposite, they'd never seen humans so they don't view them as a threat? Dunno.

I always thought that in the State Parks the bears and animals would come around the camps because they were so used to human contact, whereas normal wild animals would run and hide if they had never seen humans before. Probably as Tao said its the locals..probably some kind of tribe. Well now that we have found it, more then likely they can kiss their asses goodbye now just like the brazilian indians.

The word "rape" could be a bit harsh but it's already happened and for a long time too.
