Bribe them. Every Friday award an employee with a box of candy for best effort. It will be incentive for a while to get in the spirit of things and may create a new type of relationship. Just do it for a month, see how it goes.

A box of whitmans is what? four bucks? Maybe a gift certificate for a large fries at McDonalds. be fun maybe.

If his co-workers are anything like my co-workers then anything short of LOTS AND LOTS OF booze or money wont budge their positions.
