I am not judging them, that is for Jesus. God has already declared to us what is acceptable and what is not. I am just standing on this.

We are commanded to witness to all nations. In order for me to witness, I need to show people that they sin, and because of this sin they can not be in the presence of GOD. They need someone to save them from themselves.

The sin has already been judged, the sinner has not. I just declare what is already known.

Good question and it happens all the time. It isn't that we are picking and chosing which sin we want to abide by. It is simple really. Also no one is perfect, and all have sinned. People should not be so quick to show a sin to someone's face because they themeselves have sinned many times as well.

The ignorance of these things is the reason why people hate the church today.

That is totally wrong. A bible-reading Christian would know this.

Have you even read I Corinthians? Paul, throughout the entire letter is telling the Church in Corinth how to live by God's standards.

Let me ask you this out of curioisty, there are about 100 or more different sects of Christianity. I dont know exact number but lets just say there are a lot.

Each interprets the bible a different way. There are so many ways to look at the bible from a historical, a literal, an allegorical perspective, and different pieces are referenced in different ways.

Who is to say who is really right and who is really wrong?

Back around 4th century in Rome, why did they decide some books should belong in the bible while others were thrown out? Was it becuase they felt some books were not accurate? who are they to decide? on top of that if they felt some books were inaccurate how do they know the ones in the bible are not?

Also do not forgot translation. Look at all the different transalations of the bible. In order to truly understand the Hebrew bible one really needs to know Hebrew.

And now your going to act all high and mighty? This is another thing Jesus spoke out against. When all people do is throw other peoples sin in their face, and think they are always right and know exactly word for word what the bible says is wrong.

I feel for the people you try to "help". As your supposed to by my "brother" in christ and all you do is look down to me and others.

I can only speak to what I believe. Here are a few:

Jesus is my LORD
The Bible is 100% true.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
Jesus is the ONLY way to get to Heaven.
The Lake of Fire is the only Alternative to Heaven,
Christ is returning very soon.

As to which books were included and which were not, I would suggest you read some good bible history books. This is not the place, as I would have to type a book.

Oh how meek of you. If you were truly my 'Brother" you would of had this in a private forum.

I admitted in one of my first posts that I am a sinner. I sin daily. I am not perfect. If my "Brother" sees me sinning, I expect him to call me out. How can you Love someone and not tell them right and wrong? If my kids do wrong, I tell them. Why? Because I love them. If you love someone how can you just sit by and let them unknowingly go to Hell?

You are really misunderstanding what I am trying to get at.

For the record I have read many history books about the bible, from a positive side and a negative side. I have also read many works by biblical scholars who debate whether Jesus even ever existed and also the other side who try to prove otherwise. I was a big history buff in college and still am. So I have also read many works by the Roman historians such as Tacticus.

The great thing about Christ's victory over sin is that "religion" is irrelevant, the different "sects" and such, irrelevant. The primary point is do you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God who came to Earth, died and was resurrected. Do believe that he is Lord, do you accept him as your savior to forgive you of your sins. Everything else falls into place later. You can't truely believe the Bible is gospel unless you believe Jesus is Lord, truely believe it that is.

I have never hit someone, besides my kids, for doing wrong. I always talk to them. I never yell or shout. This is a discussion, that is all.

How can i best explain why I do not accept things solely on what another person tells me?

Best way I can describe is when i was an EMT, we learnt the ABC's

Airway
Breathing
Circulation

There is no point on going any further unless ABC's are there.

Then don't believe what I say, Pray to God that the truth will be revealed to you, and I'll pray as well. If you Keep an open mind Jesus will make himself known to you. But at that point do not turn away, do not close your mind, you can either accept it as truth, or not. It is your own personal choice.

There is no need to reply to this post, I think we've both said all that can be said, let's both pray that the truths we are seeking will be revealed.

If I had a kid that was gay I would not turn my back on him. I also teach my kids about Jesus and that HE IS the savior. I would explain to him/her how Jesus feels about homosexuality. Would I condemn him/her NO. Would I condone it NO. Is there actualy Proof that say's you are born gay? Just a question.

One may be born with the feelings of being gay or possibly even have a genetic reason for being attracted to the same sex. This is born out of the evil of the world. However, that does not mean one has to choose to accept it and act on it.

It would be just like having the feeling of wanting to kill someone, or wanting to rape someone, or having anger and wanting to yell at someone. We may have these feelings, but we choose not to act on them. Same thing here, you may have that feeling, but you choose to act on it or not.

The best thing to do if you have that feeling is to sit down and pray about it. Christ has victory over sin, if we give our hearts to him he can conquer it.

I have actually read some medical texts that have theories that some may be born with a genetic disposition towards the same sex. They therefore could very well be born with being attracted to the same sex.

That makes sense though with what we know that there are problems in this world born out of the evil of this world. For example diseases like AIDS, and other things.

So if someone is born "gay", they have those feelings. However, they can still CHOOSE to act on those feelings or not. It's just like feeling anger or anything else, we can act on those feelings or not. If they truely believe in Christ they will know the feelings are wrong and not act on them and pray for forgiveness.

It doesn't matter whether you're born gay or not. I don't believe that one is. Even if one is, it doesn't make it OK to act out on your homosexual tendencies. The same way some people are prone to more violence/rage, one has to ask God to to deliver you from that.

Yeah, I don't really know if you can be born with gay feelings or not. But I do see the possibility that it could be true.

Either way we know acting on it is wrong.

Gay feelings are like any other feelings is the way I look at it. You may feel like yelling at someone, but you choose not to. You may be attracted to someone but you choose not to persue it.

One thing is for certain, if you are born again you sure better pray deeply about if you have those feelings and you sure better not act on it. It is very immoral.

For the record Ric, I'm getting saved this weekend. It's been a long time coming (IMO). Regardless, the time is right for me now (with our 1st child on the way, among other things). I'm very excited. I just wish I would have opened my eyes and mind sooner. But you know what they say, better late than never
