NASA Scientist: 'Mars Could be Biologically Alive'

Post by Brent »

BOULDER, Colorado – Evidence for intense local enhancements in methane on Mars has been bolstered by ground-based observations. The methane, as well as water on Mars, was detected using state-of-the-art infrared spectrometers stationed atop Mauna Kea, Hawaii and in Cerro Pachón, Chile.

Scientific teams around the globe are on the trail of methane seeping out of Mars. And for good reason: The methane could be the result of biological processes. It could also be an "abiotic" geochemical process, however, or the result of volcanic or hydrothermal activity on the red planet.
What do you think, is it from a biological process or abiotic?

Right now I'm leaning toward hydrothermal activity.

But ya never know.

It sounds as though it was almost eartlike with waterfalls flowing etc...Something cataclysmic must have happened to make it look like it is today. I wonder if they have gotten any pictures of that face that is on mars that are better in resolution much like these pictures.

yeah, I'd be interested to see super high-res pics of the Cydonia region - I've seen some pics before that looks like a whole city half buried in the sand - and then there is the region with all the monoliths - and the pyramid ruins - and the "tube" structures ...

course, these pics prolly exist, but since our government thinks all us sheep are too stupid to handle it - they just don't talk about it - much the same with UFOs ...

the molten magma core of mars cooled. that allowed the magnetosphere to dissapear and then the solar winds slowly stripped the planet of its major atmoshperic parts.
Well ROTFL, Skip, it ain't gonna happen; you'd better get back to buying armor upgrades off eBay.

Was there something that occurred that made it cool down like that?Sounds like that movie "The Core".
