must be before my time...I have no clue what a CPU regulator does....could be a flux capacitor for all I know :D

Some server mobo's don't have an onboard adjustment for the CPU voltage, so you need and external regulator depending on which CPU you are using.

From an old Prolaint. Need another one so I can install another processor but I hate to spend even $15 on the old box. Just hate to get rid of it.
