new burner recommendations?

Post by RoscoPColtrane »

My burner is a POS, will not burn past 12% for some reason or another. :( Thinking about saving up for a DVD burner as a replacement. Could someone explain the difference between the dvd+r and dvd-r and i take it the RW still means rewrite? And also what is a good brand for burner? Plextor? Lite-on? I know these were good cd-burners they still good for dvds? thanks

There's really no difference between dvd+/-r dvd-r is generally more compatible with dvd players but some burners can use bitsetting to make readers read dvd+r as dvd-roms for the best compatibility. As for burners for value get a NEC for quality get a Pioneer.
