There are many ways it is implemented - some use regular handsets, some use proprietary handsets, and some use computers (mic/headset/speakers) - which way is your router - and providor - wired?
anything is possible - nothing is free

That is not a VoIP Gateway. That's a standard BB router.

You never really answered my question, but if I understand you correctly, you want to plug your POTS telephone into a router and use VoIP to call your neighbor on their POTS telephone(?) This requires specialized equipment and a service provider taht offers the connectivity.

If you only need to do PC-PC calling, that is much simpler and requires less equipment - and the software is free - netmeeting, for example.

Gotcha - that device you linked to is a gateway. You should be fine with that linky - hanging the VoIP device off it.

Have fun,

You can plug the AT supplied by your VoIP provider into a phone jack. Since phones are wired in parallel, it will work with all of your phones. Read my post here.
