Adelphias cable upgrade too expensive
Adelphias cable upgrade too expensive
Ok I like the idea of going from the upload average of 128 and down of 3M to 512up and over 4M down..however they want another 40$ for that difference..I'm sorry but thats CRAZY!!!!! I currently get over 4M down and over 128-200 UP paying around 50$ now..I'm not going to pay 90$ for just that little difference. For that amount Adelphia needs to DOUBLE the damn speeds rather than just a single increase of 1Meg down and double the upload.. to me the downpipe is more important anyway. They need to rethink the cost of that!
How are you getting over 4 mg down if you dont have the new tier ? I have the 3000/256 and get constant 2900/240. I also have 2 TV's on digital cable and pay about $100 a month for everything.

I have used Adelphia cable internet for a few years now. A while back they added the extra bandwidth in my area and said I would be getting a speed increase. Before I avg 120 or so up and in between 3 and 3mbs down. I now run 248 or so up and still most times around 2.5 to 3 down. I have not noticed anything different unless I am sending large files in emails or some other way. In the games I play and all online I stayed the same in every thing. If it changed at all it was very little.
So unless you send a lot of large files a lot I would worry about upgrading. I was lucky and got the speed boost at the same $49 I was paying before hand.

yeah I pay about 54$ a month which is way to high if you ask me all cause I don't have basic service with them for TV... which is I consider should be against the law why should I pay more for the same internet my neighbor has just cause I don't watch the cable for TV??? The speeds are great so I try to keep my complaints to a min. They just recently upgraded speeds in this area anyway but the difference on the new upgrade package they are offering is really sad! I mean come on I'm not going to pay another 40$ more for just a Megabite DOWN speed and only twice the upload! for 90$ they better offer 20m down and at least 5m up

Perhaps but you still have this little bit of fine print to watch out for:
² Offer may not be available in all areas, and prices may vary by market. Installation, equipment and other charges may apply, please call Adelphia for specific details. Additional terms and conditions may apply to Adelphia Broadband Services. Service plans subject to change with or without notice.
And after all I know in this area I'm getting almost 4-5down now along with over 256 average up... so the extra 5$ might be worth it but I'd have to test it out..and I'm sure they make you sign some damn contract for a year or something so you can't back out of it.. same thing with switchin my cell phone provider today.. darn contracts they put you on so if you leave they charge you a arm and a leg to get out of them.
