Whistler Interim Build 2428 Out

Post by Brent »

Just letting folks know what's happenin

Yesterday Microsoft released INTERNALLY build 2428 to beta testers. Again this is NOT Beta 2 and this will NOT be shipped on CD. IT is still being called Whistler, when Beta 2 comes out that is when they will start calling it Windows XP.

The major thing about this build is the inclusion of the visual themes and bug fixes and stuff in preperation for Beta 2. But this is the absolute latest build downloadable to beta testers.

So there ya go

I haven't downloaded it yet or tried it yet, I just checked the Whistler Beta NG's and saw in Annoucements that this build has been released now.

Other features include a remote-administration system that lets you send a secure invitation to another XP user, allowing them to connect directly to your computer through a network and operate it as though they were sitting at your local console. (Although uninvited users can't crash your party there hasn't been any heavy-duty third-party testing of the security of the system yet.)
 Great, now it comes with a built-in trojan...

I just have to say. .that microsoft has done a very good job on this build.. the earlier ones, whenever u tried to run the themes it would slowww down and be really buggy..
But it seems like they have smooth out alootttaaa of things..
