cgi.bin in adaware ?

Post by RAAF453_Shep »

G'day all....

well I ran AdAware last night, it came up with the usual Data Miners ( my wife does alot of surveys ) but there were some 35 cgi.bin listings in the group of miners. they didnt have any reference to a specific program or site .
I wasnt sure what to do with them, so I left them till I could post this. any ideas on quarantine or ignore ?

Cheers !
nothing like my Virtual Spitfire Mk IXc and a few wingmen to cover my 6 !

If ad-aware detects them, then assume their spyware. Ive had cgi-bin and quarantining them did no harm, so I blocked it in IE6 privacy settings so dont get them anymore.

Its only really some registry settings thats worth quarantining incase you need them, cookies can easily be re-created by a website if you needed them, although unlikely as ad-aware shouldn't detect "good" cookies.
