MCI>uu.net ??

Post by Mopwr2u1 »

I noticed that when I tracert I see uu.net as the server or router it gets to with my IP address. So is uu.net kept in covads premises here in OR. If so my distance is over 11,000 feet from them. That would limit my bandwidth right?
Im using MCI DSL I was told it was pppoa.

uunet is a division of mci (formerly wcom). uunet is not at all related to covad.

If you have a WC circuit, you are not using covad.

It's your distance from the phone company that matters. uunet wc equipment will be there. uunet owns a backbone - not related to the 'last mile' to your home.

This should be listed by your provider. Ask support.

Maybe posting your tcp analyzer results in hte tweaking forum would be a good idea. May be that your settings aren't perfect for your connection.
