if i get the ic7max 3 can i get pc3500memory or higher for it ,incase i do want to overclock in the future, will the pc3500 be useless without overclocking?

never have overclocked so not sure if when overclocking
the right memory is needed,

or will the pc3200 cl2 do for both normal and overclocking needs?

I believe the ic7 max3 supports ddr400 or pc3200 standard, when you up the fsb of course you can work towards the pc3500 speed. BTW I have the p4c800-e Deluxe with 2.8c and I love it.

i received the p4 3.0C tiny bugger isnt he,or is it a she to u?

as for the memory which one is better
from corsair

TWINX1024-3200LL 2x512MB PC3200
or
TWIN-X 2x512MB PC3200 CL2 RAM
and then the XMS ??

LL and CL2 does that mean the same ?
which memory should i get?
im leaning towards the
TWINX1024-3200LL 2x512MB PC3200

"LL" is short for "Low Latency," referring to CL2, which in turn refers to the access time for the RAM. 2 nanoseconds.

The "TwinX" means that the two RAM modules were tested together as a pair.

my p4 3.0c code is SL6WU
PACKED on 10 -1 -03
made in malaysia

read somewhere some cpu with code ***** had problems
hope this is one is not one of em

anyway back to the memory issue i have

i want to get pc3200LL or CL2 by corsair ,as i understand i can drop this memory in the mobo and go play my latest games.

can i do the same with the pc3500?as i understand i have to mess around with fsb,?

and if i go with the pc3500 what do i need to do to make this memory run with the mobo p4c800e with stock air?

i dont want to have an overclocked system with stock air cooling running 24/7, so is the 3200 the better way to go ?

If you hae the Cash get the LL series , Also if you plan to do future overclocking on a PS I would suggest the PC3500 as the P4's seems to get much higher on the FSB than the AMD's which would mean the PC3500 would allow this without having to loosen your timings as much ....

That's where the PC3200/3500 Difference is , The 3500 Would be able to run at tighter timings at FSB of 200 than the PC3200 would ( Well in theory anyway ) and is already tested and stable at higher FSB if you decide to OC it later ....

All PC3500 (DDR433) is good for is IF you overclock.

If you're not going to overclock, get PC3200 (DDR400), since your motherboard supports that speed natively.

Yes, the 3200 (DDR400). And the LL if you have the extra cash.

guys, wazzup

this is the biggest dilemma for me,.,

as i understand from most vendors is that pc3200 is better for (amd) cpu's

and that pc3500 and pc3700 are better for the 865 and 875's
and that i/you can buy this ram., and put it in and go.
without having to overclock/underclock the memory

so with the above being true , pc3700 come only in cl3
and pc3500 comes in cl2

so this is where i cant make up my mind

pc3200 is for amd , so im told , hit or miss with intel
pc 3500 comes cl2
pc3700 is cl3

with that being said i think i want to go for the pc3500,cause its cl2

from the above , yup, i dont know what to do ,between pc3500 cause its cl2 and the pc3700 is not

please shed some light on this issue ,,,thanks
