RPC problems

So I was at my father-in-law's house today and he was complaining about an RPC error. He is getting the error "system shutdown"

message:Windows must now restart because of the Remote Procedure Call terminated unexpectedly.

does this soud like an infection

need help, any advice

Thanks for the reply murman, I was pretty sure that was the problem, just needed some conformation.
