Speedguide bottom 100 movie nominations

Post by jayyy »

What movies that didn't make the critic's list do *you* think are the worst of all time?

I nominate Theodore Rex, Starring Whoopi Goldberg as a jaded cop that teams up with a wisecracking dinosaur to fight crime.

Meet Joe Black. One of only two films to ever put me to sleep in the theater.

Really? But it was like 3 hours long, and everyone spent the whole time sitting around talking in rooms in that big house. I was so bored I couldnt even follow what was happening.

Memento was one of my favorite movies.

Aside from anything that appeared in Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (Manos: Hands of Fate comes immediately to mind) and other cult misery classics....

Pat (What the Hell were they thinking!?)
The Highlander sequels. (Stench on celluloid)
Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: The Movie (BeeGee and Peter Frampton should have been vigorously slapped).

There are many many others...
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who make things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer.

Charlies Angels 2. If it wasn't for the 4 hot women in it, it would have been a made for TV movie.

This is far too broad to pin down single movies, so I go by what I've walked out on:

"Kicked in the Head"
"Mortal Kombat 2"

Fell dead asleep in:

"Twin Dragons"
"City of Angels"

Hmmm. Don't understand some of these choices. I liked There's Something About Mary (minus the stupid dog scene). And Roger Moore's are the only Bond movies I like. Oh well.

The worst ever was Female Trouble. Nothing even comes close. Oh, I suppose it could be funny if you're really stoned or something, but that shouldn't count.

Unintentional, but yes...I thought it was a very bad movie that didn't even BEGIN to meet all the hype I heard about it.

Hamburger U.

Are we talking just flat out bad, or so cheezy it still retains a little value? Hamburger U. has no redeeeming qualities, I walked out on it when I was maybe 13 years old.

Robot Jox, is another one.

Maybe that is why Humboldt didn't like it...it wasn't the real movie it was boot leg... :D

I think Super Mario, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter, Who Framed Roger Rabbit ( only cause my daycare showed it to me everyday for a year  ), there are sooo many more....but I have blocked them out.

The villiage voice is a worthwhile read. They have a few good articles this week.

I would be surprised if you did not have a few dogs to add to this pound of mangy cur movies.

I think I'm stuck between agreeing and disagreeing with half of the movies posted here.

Hm...how about adding "Lost In Space" to the list. ;)

I'm gonna give that one the benefit of the doubt until the next one comes out, because its basically just the first half of a two part sequel.

The action scenes were good, I just didnt understand all the pot philosophy or where they were going with it. But I bought a bootleg of it on the street the other day and when I had time to listen to the dialogue more closely I started to understand it. Wanna read what I figured out? Well I'm gonna write it anyway!

The meaning is neo, or someone like him, keeps coming through and disturbing the matrix. This is sixth major breach they've had. They try to contain him with the Zion illusion and the oracle program. If that fails, they lead him out of the system, tell him to choose 31 people to re-start zion with, and do a full reset on the whole program, making a new version that they hope will contain any more breakouts.
But this time he let zion be destroyed. the oracle was wrong because he disobeyed her. Worse, he broke the illusion of the outer world.
