hmm.

What I'd like you to do for me is enter a shell, change to root, enter these, then post the results for each one:

lspci

lspci -n

also, it would help if I could see your dmesg output statement from boot.

Are you sure that's the right model PCMCIA card? Google is not returning any hits ...

Xtreme people caught this one. This is indeed strange.

This is not a "who is better" thread.. this is a "what the" thread. Hopefully someone will enlighten us or add to it.

If you're using Windows, it would be a good idea. You MIGHT be able to get away with going from an AMD-AMD.

With linux, don't have to. :-)

As long as the downstream is between -12dB through +12dB, you are ok.

For the upstream, the lower the better. 43dB is fine.

Also syntax. Is is 'Singular' 'Are' for plural. :-)

Microsoft won't allow nvidia to release official drivers for windows 98 because since Microsoft no longer supports it, no one else is allowed to because they want you to buy newer stuff.

They still support Windows ME. ME uses the same basic kernel with 98 so it should work just fine.

That's about the cutoff line for low ping on cable.

Your ISP probably is routing a lot of people with that node.
