hi, im having trouble with getting onto the internet with one of my computers.. Heres my setup
2 computers 1 with xp/linux one with 2000
both go thru linksys router to cable modem

The computer with 2000 was workin a few days ago, but now it cant go on the interent. It can ping the router and the cable modem, and access the Router Page, but for some reason it cant access the cable modems page (Surfboard 3100) or any other webpage..... Ive tried reformmating, flush dns with the ipconfig command, and switching OSes... Also ive tried different NICs, and nothings working. On the other hand the other puter is workin fine both in xp and linux... Anybody know what could be the problem? Im sure i have the dns servers right, and even if i dont i should be able to access the modem page... Thanks!

try setting the LAN to DHCP

after a reformat of one of the comps; it would not work with Static IP after I set the comp to DHCP it worked fine...

Try flushing the router (quick press of the reset button on rear. Holding for 3 seconds or so will reset your config).
Try different ports to rule out port gone bad.
Flush the cable modem. Power down (pull the plug) for 15 minutes or so.
