i think its ok as long as its not kids. unfortunautly prostitution usually is accompanied with drug addiction, and the 2 combined usually are breeding grounds for pretty hardcore diseases.

but if you just mean prostitution as a honest occupation of sex for money. i say hey sure whatever works, i personally would never do it. but i wouldnt ever strip for money either.

as long as its safe, and regulated im all for it. i dont think it exists because of gender equality nor do i believe its a step in the right direction for womens rights. I think its one of those things that have always existed and always will exist regardless of whether or not we want to recognize it.

Its not taking advantage of anyone, you dont HAVE to pay someone if you dont want to. Ya know? It should be legal, if someones got the dough to cough up like that, hey might as well be able to get a super hot chick eh? Not that my opinion is what you were asking for but yea haha.

Regulated prostitution at commercial locations. No pimps, free health care, paid vacations, and the women treated like employees with all the inherent rights.

If you go into prostitution alone, you report your income and pay taxes like the rest of us and are required to update your health certificate or be closed down like any other establishment.

Ho'in and Piimp'in is a sub culture that is dangerous to communities because of other criminal activities it draws.

Droolin over girls and my opinion on prostitution are 2 totally different things. I know I am not being forced to "go" with a prostitute, the fact that the "job" is disgusting is my opinion, and it should in no way be made legal.

according to the bible "droolin over girls" = lust...and they are all sins..and sins are equal

anyway...just because you think it is disgusting does not meant it should not be legal. Whatever happened to freedom? Freedom to choose? In reality who is it hurting? In fact it will probably save more lives then anything.

Truth is we all pay for sex in some form or another..LOL

GH, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has them, it's my opinion and I have every right to feel like I do, who said that I am trying to force it on anyone? I don't believe that it should be legal, if it's made legal, then so be it, if a women/man is low enough to sleep with someone else for money, then that is on them. And WTF does this have to do with lookin at girls anyways?

Yes, a sin is a sin, but we're not talkin about what The Lord thinks, we're talkin about what our opinions are about prostitution, stop making this thread something that it is not.

Ok guys....Let's let this one go by the wayside and give the other gender a chance at the original question?

Both points of view are already stated by both of you.

LMMFAO, you're so predictable it's not even funny GH, your arguements never change, you need something new other than "lookin at girls on the web is a sin", you need a new line. The fact that you're comparing lookin @ women, to prostitution, warrants me ignoring any other posts of yours in this thread.

Read this GH:

Also, here's a great quote:
EternalDiatribe:

The problem with prostitution is not a moral one, but rather a societal one..it demonstrates that a society is willing to allow the worst form of non-war human degradation, the selling of one's body for money.

I actually laugh how NY/NJ waste so much taxpayer money trying to close down escort services and brothels...when there are real serious crimes that could be better use...meanwhile the politicians here are all against it...but so many politicians use the services anyway...LOL

Prey, I totally respect your opinion so please don't take these questions as a challenge.

Isn't pornography a form of prostituting ones body for voyeurism to make a profit?

If a woman has pictures taken of herself in compromising positions without the penetration of another person and she is highly paid, is this not another form of prostituting her body for profit? Or is the fact that one can only watch her pose less disgusting than engaging in the act for the same purpose of sexual arousal?

I only advocate the legalization of prostitution to keep women safe, because it is the worlds oldest profession.

Well for us here in Nevada its like a tourist attraction but yes, I have to agree with you. It's like trying to stop the U.S. from getting and smoking pot, it just isn't going to happen. Legalize it and make them pay taxes!

I'll never pay for sex, but hey whatever. If some woman wants to sell herself for some $ fine that's her business.

Murder for hire is also an old profession as is politics.

You are quite correct in that pornography is a form of prostitution. More accurately, it nebulous step on the slippery slope of full self-degradation. Although, based on what is readily viewable on porn sites, I would believe that direct prostitution is less reprehensible.
This is a tough topic to argue. Self determination implies that it should be as legal as suicide, it should be permissible inspite of morality. However, it is the illegal alien trafficking, drugs (both of which are vicious traps that snare its victims) and STD issues that have me strongly leaning towards keeping it unlawful.
