If you are going to just ban Speedguide Members because you aren't willing to get on Teamspeak, or aren't willing to try and actually help them play the game then you have no business being an admin.

I do think, personally, regaurdless if it was an SG member or not, considering that tonight was a passworded closed game, such rules are slightly less relevant, and even some not at all.

If this weren't a game like it was tonight, I'd have agreed with you, as the rules state to not TK. However, seeing as it was not, and that it was a closed SG Game, that was uncalled for.

i had fun even though i was getting my butt kicked badly :)

the deal with Lefty is he literaly just installed the game last nite, i guess it is kinda hard for some people to remember how long it took to learn this game and the maps and what-not .

give the guy a break man, this is supposed to be fun, it's not the world series or something, it's just a game ;)

Nah, you were fine as far as teams go, at least I think so. Server's only passworded when we're doing something like that. However, I have noticed if you join through the server manager client, it doesn't prompt you for a password, so I can see where you were confused.

Everyone was busy trying to play, and on TS so we weren't paying much attention to the in game text messages after we reset each map, to busy trying not to be killed.

It'll take Lefty a couple times playing to get the hang of the teams and names, Sammy and I helped him a bit getting set up. He had no idea about the map and how to use it, so please just try and be patient with him for a bit. He probably didn't even notice you're messages to him, but he could sure as hell heard you if you were yelling at him in TS.

Hey guys, lets try to be aware of the text chat that's flying around. If we see some sort of problem going on, step up to the plate and try to help things out.

Now if Needle was yelling at Lefty to stop shooting him, repeatedly, then kick him a time or two...the in game text would have shown that going on.

This is an opportune time for SG regulars to step in and help out the situation. Else...Lefty, and any other SG peeps who wish to see what this SG game server thing is about, will leave with a bad taste in their mouth. That being the case, one more potential regular on the server has been lost.

We're supposed to build a gaming community here. Some tolerance of the new players is needed. This isn't as simple of a game as Quake deathmatch, where you just join in and shoot. It takes quite a few times to catch on to how the game works. We've all been there.

Now I can accept the arguement that Needle didn't know who Lefty was, hence the resorting to kicks, and a ban, since Lefty is more of a gen forum regular...but of the 16 or so other players who were on last night, comon...someone must have know who Lefty was.

A few people stopping for 5 minutes and showing a new person a thing or two each time...pretty soon, that new person gets the hang of the game, and begins to enjoy it.

I tried to help him out. He was in TS asking why he couldn't get into the game. I wasted 30 minutes of my time trying to help him get back in. Thinking it was punkbuster or something else. I got in late so all that I knew was he was having trouble trying to connect. I believe that at one point one of the admin's on TS removed his ban only to have it redone. I don't know. Kicking and banning people is just lame in my oppinion. Unless someone is being a complete jackass like a team member shooting you because they want to get in a helo or something or somebody using excessive profanity or racial remarks really is it necessary? It's a game it's not like somebody came along and sucker punched you in the face.
Respect it.

No, we told him who lefty was, that he was new, so on so fourth. Snuf specifically. He knew.

Now saying he's to blame her, since he didn't know it was a closed game anyways.

I was simply under the impression he was on our team, as he was in our teamspeak room.

Come on guys, it's just a game. No need to get all worked up on something like this.

Needlefreak, It's no big deal imo that you joined up to play. The more the merrier I say. Our "set" teams are just to get people more involved with the teamplay of this game. (what makes this game stand out) If players want to join up at the last second, I say come on in! :) Please don't let this little episode make you want to just quit playing, never playing our the SG server anymore or being a prominant, helpfull member of the SG community.

I agree with Illini. If you happen to show up join in. I told that to several peeps that showed interest late in the day on Tuesday. I like DC and would like to see more regular players that way we can have a better turn out in the next pick up game. We just need to give these newbs more time to work out the kinks. I will be willing to help anybody that asks. I'm not nearly as good as most of the players, but I can still teach a bit.

Whoa there cowboy! LOL

I understand your frustration...really I do. **** happens dude and the Lefty situation was just a fluke as he is new to the game. He probably thought it was deathmatch style play.

No big deal Needle. Water under the bridge man. Under those circumstances you did the what you thought was right. Now that we all know what the situation is...we'll make it right.

I was wondering when you would get your ass back on our server. Sorry I missed ya there...I couldn't play as well due to other commitments.

Hope to see ya back in there soon dude. I need a good pilot to go up against...I've been practicing.

i think if anyone read the text, they would have said something. i personally was reading most of what was going on. Maybe he was just talking to his team (L) button. or whatever so neither lefty nor any of us could see what he was saying.

just a thought.

ya no sense over reacting ... hell I was accused of base camping during that last match which I wasn't.. doing what the teams said to do "Heavy Advance TWL rules 30seconds in and out" plus trying to steal a chopper to use but as ya know I have to kill on the way in to get it LOL but its no big deal to me its just a game and a few words or someone calling me a ***hole for a accident isn't something thats going to get me fired up we play we go on no biggy.
