Go rent a carpet cleaner that comes with a small attachment kit. If it's real dirty you could try some "Shout" on it but first try in an area that you're not worried about. Simple Green and a sponge. If leather, any automotive leather cleaner will do. Don't be afraid to use a stiff brush with the leather cleaner. You'd be surprised how much scrubbing it can take and not effect the look.
