Notes:
In computer networking, a port is an application-specific or process-specific software construct serving as a communications endpoint used by Transport Layer protocols of the Internet Protocol Suite, such as TCP and UDP. Ports are identified by their port number (between 0 and 65535).

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) is responsible for the global coordination of Internet protocol resources, such as the DNS Root, IP addressing, and the registration of commonly used port numbers for well-known Internet services. The port numbers are divided into three ranges:
Well Known Ports: 0 through 1023
Registered Ports: 1024 through 49151
Dynamic (Private) Ports: 49152 through 65535

Well Known and Registered ports should not be used without IANA registration. The registration procedure is defined in [RFC4340], Section 19.9.
