Google's smart jacket will reportedly be available this fall for $350. The project, which stands behind the jacket - "Project Jacquard" was announced back in 2015. It is a cooperation between Google's Advanced Technology and Products (ATAP) division and Levi's.

"We've been going through continuous consumer wear testing to refine the jacket and its abilities," a Google spokesperson said. "We want to be sure we take the time to get it right and provide a great experience for people.

What makes the Commuter Trucker Jacket "smart" is a conductive fabric and a Bluetooth device that attaches to the garment. The connected area consists of 15 threads on the left sleeve, just visible enough for you to know where to touch to trigger actions from a paired smartphone.

Google says the conductive fabric technology can be used to make almost any standard item of clothing, with the option to make the material completely invisible to wearers.
