Facebook TV could debut in August

2017-07-26 16:18 by

Social media giant Facebook has announced that it will debut its first Facebook TV episodes in mid-August.

The new service is targeting the cable networks and advertising and supported online services that target young viewer crowds. It was originally meant to be ready a month ago, however, "it has taken longer than anticipated and further delays could occur".

Facebook TV will be displayed outside of a user's default news feed in a new section dedicated to video. It will feature a mix of user generated and original content.

The company has reportedly sent requests to several of its business partners to deliver the first few episodes of the spotlight shows it plans to release. The brand is also reported to be funding high-end TV-style shows, which are scheduled to launch later on its website.
