i dont own an XBOX... but my roommate does, and the only way we can play madden is if its on XBOX.....

well anyway.... it sucks.... the controller sucks.... the buttons are awkwardly placed....

well we had a problem the other day.... when we put in madden it said the disc is dirty or damaged... and we couldnt play... so he called tech support to see if he could get a new CD... well it turns out that the problem was a multiple of things.... he had the reciever for the remote always plugged (remote for DVD) which was causing an interference.... cause when that is plugged in it constantly looks for a signal... so supposedly that was screwing stuff up....

also another reason for the problem was not properly shutting down the machine..... were not shutting it down in the middle of a game or anything.... they said you need to go to the main menu.... hit the eject button.... take CD out... put in box... press button to push tray back in... wait for light to stop blinking then power off.... yes this means everytime you shut it down even though your going to be playing that game the next time....

well what this was doing was making files corrupt, like saved game files and stuff..... therefore we had to delete those files to get the thing to work again.... he had some saved on a cartridge....

not to mention all the game glitches that happen.... weve had the ball misspotted... not by inches... but by 10, 20 30 and once 100 yards.... sometimes it also doesnt use the play u called..... mind you this is the only game i play... so its the only one i can draw from......

XBOX sucks..... cause of the word that goes in front of it... Microsoft..

i work at a major retailer. xboxes and ps2s always break, i have never..i repeat NEVER seen any nintendo system just "stop" working. i wish they would appeal to a wider audience.

I have never had ANY of the problems you mentioned. I love my XBOX and XBOX live.
Your friend probably has a modded XBOX and some stolen games, that usually causes problems, like you explain.

no not at all.... he wouldnt even think of doing anything like that.... he was in the seminary until he met his girlfriend....

When I had mine, I never had one problem either.

I loved it and hope to buy it back someday (had to sell, needed $$)

The controllers are great, nice and big, my hands never got cramped even after hours of playing.

roofl more like 2 months ..lol ..seriously tho, they break ALL the time..could be 2 months, could be 6 or a year..they break FAST..

yeah sony playstation 2 is better. *hint that it sold so much more*

controllers are perfect, except i hate the l3 and r3 buttons. games are better too. only thing i hate is that xbox will own ps2 in online gaming. since xbox runs all its servers through microsoft.

actually the only console i still have is my SNES..and i love it. (when i play it).. i haven't purchased anything since my n64 (which my brother gave away).. and don't care to. i'll buy computer parts and diamonds kthxbye

my last console was N64 and that was only for Bond.... i bought the freakin console for one game and one game only....

and in my experience with consoles.... ps2 controllers have been the best....

that xbox one, is just too big and heavy.....

I hate the original controller for xbox but I have the mad catz and love it, not to big not to small.

I have also purchased a gamecube for my daughter for christmas. She wants the thing so bad.

And if you guys think thats bad, I just purchased a sega master system with a few games off ebay!! Cant wait till it arrives, bring back some memories!!

I'll admit that 7 hit very close to the mark, but everything after that was a downhill battle. I'm thinking of going towards the PS2, but still a bit worried.

Hmmm

I Have to say that im a big fan of console and PC games! I do agree that FPS are better with a keyboard and mouse, however some are done really well with the controllers of systems too! I have a ps2 and i like it alot and want to buy an xbox. I dont really agree that PC gaming is the only way to go. I would much rather do my sports games on consoles. Plus online gaming is going to be great on xbox. Reasons? Well first off EVERYONE you play will be running same system with same specs and off of broadband. That will cut down alot on people with older systems bogging down newer systems.

One other thing ID love to see anyone BUY a compy for 199.99 and have games look and run taht good!

ANd for the BREAKING CRAP, ive had my ps2 for years and its still running strong.....i take it your computer has never BROKEN?? Just go buy it at a best buy, throw down the 24.99 for the replacement plan...and forget about it for two years!!

the topic that always comes in on the debate between whether PC is better than console is price.... as with anything else....

well a few ways to look at it.... yes a console would be cheaper as the top line video card can be 400 beans.....

and a whole computer can be 10 consoles in one....

but.... you also dont buy a computer to just play games.... to a certain extent.... their are other things we do with a computer... like posting here at SG.... and various other things.... work... school.... whatever it may be.... consoles having DVD players nowadays though does add to their use....

if your a real true PC gamer, your gonna spend ur money on getting the best stuff you can to play games...

well... enuff said..... I like PC more cause of the keyboard mouse abilities.... graphics are getting real close now between the newer consoles... cause its hard to put down 400 beans for that new video card....

I find the XBox controllers quite comfortable. I do have big hands.

Ergonomics and game availability. We have XBox and PS2 in the house.

I just purchased the latest Mortal Combat....

Dues i have heard that that new MK is awesome...back on par w/ 2 and 3....kinda wanting to pick it up!!

Indeed i would agree with the computer not being a GAMING only platform, where as consoles are.....

But if you think about it...you dont' go out to buy an xbox to do taxing on right? They are put together for gaming PERIOD (dvd just and added extra)

The way i look at it...MUST have computer in this day and age, however if you can't afford the top end....must cheapo compys will do taxes, word proc, and such just fine....

SO i believe the xbox/ps2/gc do have their place and will continue to grow....have you seen the specs on the ps3?!

i wasted alot on money on my xbox (xwife) so why would I spend any money on another xbox?

get a comp and geforce 3 ti and OOOOOOOOOOOOOoooh way u go!
