E-Commerce

Hi guys - I'm working on a research project/report and I'm trying to gather ideas. My objective is to create a full e-commerce business plan. Basically, what I seek as of now are ideas.

Does anyone have any creative ideas for an e-business? Possibly a business that the internet lacks that would find success on the internet? An online business that people could benefit from? The ideal business I would be looking for is something both unique and practical.

I thought this forum would be a good place to begin because I think you guys probably have some good ideas.

Any feedback would be great! Thanks.

Why tell you? Are you going to share the wealth? :D

Hehe, maybe you misunderstood my original post....or maybe I didn't make it clear. This is a school-related project...I'm not out to become the entrepreneur of the year.

And I'm not asking you to give me an entire business plan. I'm looking for somewhat basic ideas to give me a start. For example, one idea might be "an e-business that sells flowers." Obviously, that isn't too good of an idea nowadays, but it's an example of what I'm looking for.

I can guarantee you I won't be making a single penny off this. ;) That would be the day: getting paid to go to school.

Here's an idea for you...

Set up a site that gives money to charities. Good honest charities. (do the research to find the good ones) and sell trinkets, toys, books or whatever, and send the charities 10% - 20% of every dollar collected.

You make money, and at the same time are helping others. You can also write off the donations on your taxes.

Just an idea.

Here is a great idea....

Sell bogus celebrity memorabilia, copyright it/patent it, and then sue the real celebrities for copyright infringement when they sell their real stuff online!

Now that's the AMERICAN way! :D

lol...Not sure how well that would fly, but hey, does that really matter?

Norm, I like the charity idea. It's both a profitable business and benefits society.

Anyone else have good ideas?

Here's another idea...

Sell buggy software, and then charge to send techs out to fix problems, or have a number to call for 'pay as you play' tech support.

Oh, never mind. That's not original, everyones doing that now :D

too many entrepeneurs here for the ideas to flow too freely.

If we all had good unique and practical ideas we would be implementing them ourselves.

try and think about brick and mortar stores that exist that could go totally electronic.

Egghead is one example. They used to be brick and mortar and then closed them all and became egghead.com. no more brick and mortar stores. You're job, come up with another one and run with it.

I'm taking it e-seriously.

I think my e-proposals, while far fetched...are a refection of what we have seen actually happen on the e-internet.

e-BTW....my e-spam gets you an e-bump to the e-top. e- :D

I don't necessarily agree with that. Just because you have a good idea doesn't mean you would be implementing it. Most people don't have the time or capital to do such a thing, much like myself. When this project of mine is all done, it will be a solid idea. That's my goal. I HIGHLY doubt it will ever become something real.

I know I can take any brick and mortar store and run with it online, but that's too easy and simply wouldn't allow for an "A paper." I don't necessarily need something unheard of, but it has to have a unique aspect to it. I'm just looking for ideas as I'm only in the brainstorming section of the overall process.

If you feel you have an idea that you may someday impliment, don't say it. But if you don't have such plans and are willing to help a student out with a project, please do so - I need all the help I can get. I think for major projects such as the one I am currently working on, you can't have it great without others' input. I'm hoping an idea someone gives will spark something in my head.

I'm in no way looking to get out of doing work - I'm simply trying to stimulate my own ideas by intaking the ideas of others.

Sorry if I took this thread where I didn't intend it to go. How about I propose this: If you have any good ideas and you don't mind sharing them, I am open to hear them.

That way, we eliminate the issue of someone worried about another individual "stealing" that's person's idea.

If you're willing to share, please do.
