I just tried to copy my Ut2003 discs for back up reasons. I burned the first one and it doesn't work. The disc shows up in my computer as a blank disk. Is this XP's anti piracy thing? All I was trying to do is back up MY game discs that I OWN!

I dont think its xp...it a type of copy protection on the disk....ut 1 was spread around tooo much, so I guess they locked this one down..do you need the disk to play the game? If so then it checks for a certain part to "verify" the disk..----Or did you finalize the disk?

anti-copy on the game disc itself

Yes, the disc has to be in to play. I used Roxio EZ Creator Platinum. Roxio is now telling me the disc is non recordable and also showing it as blank.

A program called Clone CD and Daemon Tools also works. I've succesfully cloned MoH, Battlefield 1942, CFS3 among others. It's a great program incase your disk gets scratched up or lost.

If you use CloneCd then try a program called Perfect Copy. This only works in conjunction with CloneCd and after analysing the disk sets the required parameters in CloneCd. For example my UT2003 reads as "unreadable TOC". I copied it no problem. Works with most types of copy protection.

I agree CD-clone is the best bit for bit copy utility made. You can also make an .ISO image of the disk, both will defeat most CP standards.

If your cd drive will read it..it can be duplicated

I successfully copied my cd's for back up reasons using clone cd. Easy program to use. I had it read the cd to a file and then had it burn to cd from that file.
